THE TALE OF BIO REISHI

 Gene Jose  M.  Dillague, M.D.

A long time ago, in a land far away, lived an Emperor who was obsessed with immortality.  Chin Shih Huang Ti (BC 259-210), the first self-proclaimed emperor of China, heard stories of men who became immortal by eating a stalk of a mysterious mushroom.  His search for the legendary herb led him to stumble upon the report that recorded a massacre somewhere in the far east.

According to the report, ravens were seen hovering around the dead bodies and were reportedly placing mushrooms in the faces of the dead.  As soon as the mushroom touched the dead man’s face, according to the report, the corpse would ‘immediately sit up and come back to life’.

Intrigue at what he had heard, Huang Ti sent Admiral Hsu Fu to retrieve the mysterious mushroom.  Years went by and the admiral was not heard from.  Reports came that the Admiral Hsu Fu found the mysterious mushroom and declared himself the emperor of the new territory in the far east.  This island turned out to be Japan, and the mushroom was later known as REISHI.

Reishi is an ancient medicinal mushroom recovered by Chinese Taoist healers for its effect on the person’s CHI.  It is supposed to raise the energy levels of a man, improve his memory, mend his heart and give him long life.  In the 11th century, western science caught up with the mushroom and gave it the name Ganoderma lucidum.  The mushroom is kidney-shaped, with a bright shiny red wooden cap. It grows on the dead logs and loves tropical weather.

Recent studies on the ingredients of the red mushroom shows that it contains plant fibers that are good for improving the immune system, essential oils that are wonderful in lowering cholesterol and proteins that help prevent asthma and allergic attacks and energize the nerves.

My own personal experience with Reishi came several years ago when my mother was first diagnosed to have a cancerous lump in the small intestines.  Aware of the powers of the mysterious herb, I made her consume the mushroom extract for a couple of months.  To our surprise, several months later, the tumor, according to the CT scan, shrunk significantly.

Ever since, I became an avid student of this wonderful herb and now, what better way to introduce the mushroom to our Unicity community than to bring to you all… BIO REISHI.

Bio Reishi contains 1 gram of the medicinal mushroom in every sachet. Dr. Raymund Chang of the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute recommends taking 1 gram of the dry powder for health maintenance and resistance building.  So with every sachet of Bio Reishi, we get the recommended daily amounts of the red mushroom for good health and long life.

By the Way, did I mention that Bio Reishi is also a great tasting premium 3-in 1 instant coffee?  Well, it is…but that’s only a bonus.
